Energy Law Unit


The Energy Law Unit functions since December 01, 2007 in the premises of the CIEEL in Thessaloniki, providing specialized advisory services to the Ministry of Development in the field of energy law.

In particular, the Energy Law Unit provides legal opinions, relating to public procurement and state aid issues, concerning specific legal matters of energy law, as far as these matters do not fall under the competences of Public Procurement Unit and State Aids Unit.

The Energy Law Unit, also, provides advisory services relating to regulatory matters of the energy market, such as the forming of legal opinions, the compatibility control of greek legislative texts with community law, as well as to legal issues of European economic law. Furthermore the Energy Law Unit draws a collection of greek and european case-law and legislation texts in the field of energy law and is going to create an electronic energy law database concerning those texts. The aforementioned electronic database will be accessible to users soon.
