The CIEEL's library has approximately 55,000 volumes in addition to 192 periodicals subscriptions , that cover its academic field. Material is available in a variety of languages, such as Greek, English, French, German, Italian and Spanish.
Subjects covered include:

- International human rights law
- International environmental law
- International economic law
- Law of International Business Transactions

The library's special collections in either printed or electronic format are:
A) Special Collection of the European Documentation Centre (EDC)
Since 1978, CIEEL has been designated as an official "European Documentation Centre". As such, it regularly receives all official EU publications.
B) Special Collection of the publications of Council of Europe
The CIEEL library has all the publications of the European Court of Human Rights.
C) Special Collection of the United Nations publications.
The CIEEL library has all the publications of the International Court of Justice and the International Law Commission.

Donations |
|
The library is a recipient of donations both of complete collections and parts thereof, as well as of financial contributions, such as the one of the Fritz Thyssen Institution.The professor emeritus of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Konstantinos Vougioukas and the heirs of Dimitrios Evrigenis, cofounder of the CIEEL, have donated their complete collection. The heirs of professor George Tenekidis and the heirs of the former president of the CIEEL, Krateros Ioannou as well as professor emeritus of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the University of OHIO, USA, Phaedon Kozyris, have donated part of their collection.

The Library Catalogue, since 1991, is electronicaly supported and has been uptated in 2000 by the Horizon 5.3 Library System.

Useful Information |
|
Library users have on-line access to the catalogue in the reading room. There are also available CD and microfiche reader and a photocopy machine.

Lending |
|
CIEEL's library is not a lending one. All the material is for reference only, but can be photocopied subject to copyright restrictions.
