Research |
CIEEL's research activity focuses mainly on the evolution of European Community law, with particular emphasis on Greece, as a EU member state. CIEEL's academic researchers follow the evolution of EU doctrine, legislation and jurisprudence.
CIEEL's research activity extends also beyond national borders, to a wide spectrum of legal issues, including among others public and private international law, protection of human rights and international economic law.
While a significant amount of CIEEL's research is conducted independently, other research is conducted within the framework of research programmes sponsored either by the EU or national agencies.

Consultative support |
One of CIEEL's primary objectives is to provide consultative support to the Greek State, public legal entities, agencies of financial activity and legal professionals on EU matters. In particular, CIEEL drafts legal opinions, provides advisory work and research studies.
Events |
To meet its objectives, CIEEL organizes congresses, seminars, conferences and lectures. When such events were first organized, their objectives were to provide general legal information and to familiarize Greek jurists with European Community law practice. These CIEEL events are gradually becoming more specialized and advanced, and are therefore addressed not only to jurists, but also to professionals from other sectors, such as business and science. Recently, this experience was extended to jurists from many countries of South East Europe, and in particular to jurists from candidate countries to the EU.
